Carl and Kelsey Grulke share a love for the Word of God and for helping it come alive in the hearts of those who hear the Good News.
Carl grew up in central Iowa, where his family was part of a local church plant, infusing him with a passion for reaching lost people with the Gospel in new and creative ways. After graduating from Augsburg College and being involved in many different ministries, he followed God’s call to seminary in 2009 and served as associate pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, from 2013-2016. Carl loves bringing the Word of God to life in creative ways through media and storytelling.
Kelsey also grew up in central Iowa, where she developed a love for God’s Word through church and working at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp. She studied Youth and Family Ministry at Augsburg College and spent a year traveling the United States and West Africa with Youth Encounter’s Cross Fire team. Kelsey enjoys helping others understand God’s story in new ways through drama, music, and other innovative methods.
Carl and Kelsey have known each other since childhood, were married in 2007, and have been blessed with five wonderful children: MaryJane, Audrey, Judah, Gideon and Isaac. They are thrilled to be working together as a family in ministry and have a passion for language and for sharing the incredible story of what God has done for His people all around the world. Please pray for them as they serve in Maun, Botswana, working in both the Shekgalagari and Shiyeyi languages to bring the New Testament to life for the first time.
